How do I Deliver?

I’m here to apply my learning, experience, energy, and preparedness to challenge the status quo to make things happen in growing and developing other provincial and regional transport businesses right across our great country.

I’m not here for some glorified fly-by-night consulting gig; I’m here to work collaboratively with existing operators over the medium & long-term and assist them to drive the strategy, growth, automation, simplification, resilience, and longevity in their organisations to further build on the important part they play in their regions. That means getting hands-on and getting to grips from the inside-out, whether that’s sitting behind a dispatch screen, riding shotgun in some of the fleet, or pulling on the end of a set of curtains or load-binders.

I live & breathe transport

I live and breathe road transport and certainly live by the mantra of enjoying the journey as much as the destination and know first-hand what a rewarding experience this one can be! I’m not on the planet to sit back and watch, and hence my ambition is strong to get well and truly ‘under the hood’ and be a key contributor in moving some mountains. And like you I know first-hand those pain points that keep you awake at night. I also know the unwavering commitment and intention you’ll be running your business with.

Utilising a raft of proven tools from the outset, my aim is to quickly identify how I can deliver the biggest ‘bang’ in the areas with the greatest need or greatest potential, while also realising the process is a journey and that it takes time to truly understand how things tick. I’m well versed in the art of grafting and making 1 & 1 equal 3 when it needs to. The focus for me is on action and being on the ground, delivering external perspective, understanding where you’re wanting input and see the greatest opportunities, shouldering some of the grunt-work, and ultimately delivering tailored input in the form and location that you need it…quickly, and moving the business forward. This is what I call Delivery.

What does the Delivery ‘package’ look like?

For smaller operators typical delivery might take the form of an initial ‘health check’ comprising the financials, technology, systems, culture, and structure, before narrowing down the key bases to hit and formulating a plan to hit it out of the park quickly and efficiently. For larger operators the focus shifts to that of a virtual director, leveraging the value of an extra set of eyes operating within the industry, and adding additional bandwidth to the development and execution of the organisation’s strategic focus.

Here’s a glimpse of the breadth and depth of activities undertaken:

  • Customer insight, engagement and business development

  • Identification & execution of growth opportunities, development of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and sales pipeline solutions

  • Systems & technology review and delivery (physical systems and IT/data infrastructure and flows)

  • Organisational structure review, configuration, and alignment

  • Succession planning and preparedness

  • Brand development and delivery

  • Digital & web strategy and execution

  • Advisory board member (or virtual director)

FAQs

How long does Delivery take?

A typical engagement would be for a minimum of 12-24-months, and is very open-ended beyond that. I like to think that we’ll remain engaged as long as we’re continuing to add value to your business in a measurable and meaningful way.

Who is Delivery for?

Delivery is designed for those transport operators who have some degree of scale to their business (typically 5+ vehicles in their fleet right through to 50+ truck fleets), have future aspirations for their business, and who are ready and willing to embark on making those aspirations a reality. You don’t need to know all the how’s and why’s; that’s where I come in to help with the strategy and execution, and to work with you through every step of bringing the aspiration to life.

Where does Delivery take place?

North to south, and east to west, Delivery is completed right across New Zealand and immense value is seen in working across the diversity that different regions present.

What does Delivery cost?

Delivery is comprised of a modest fixed monthly fee that’s aligned with the value that’s delivered to your business (all of which is laid out and agreed on before any work commences).
